Ashland Historical Society Museum
The staff at the museum are excellent!  I contacted them asking for someone to search for records pertaining to Mary Healy, and her husband Bernard Hoppenyan.  I asked them to stop at $50 and contact me with their findings before proceeding.   Three weeks later, I received an email from  with extensive information including photo copies of death records, portraits of both Mary and Bernard and two of their children, Mary's parent's death records, images of newspaper articles, etc.etc.etc. I am very pleased and recommend them highly!

Google Old Settlers Club.   According to the Ashland Historical Society Facebook group - the Mary Healy and Bernard Hoppenyan photos found on Ancestry are from the Old Settlers Club.   

The Old Settlers Club of Ashland WisconsinApril 29, 1924 - Superior Telegram Newspaper
Ashland, Wis - The Chequamegon Bay Old Settlers Club was formed,  about 50 Ashland residents, having resided in this city the required number of years to be eligible for the club were present, and signed the charter list.   To become a member of the Old Settlers Club it is required to have lived in the city of Ashland for a period of 35 years or more.  Adam Goeltz is the oldest Ashland resident, he having resided in Ashland since 1858.   Entries from that date until 1888 are recorded so far on the charter members list.
